I rode H/J in my younger days, but when I turned 40 and wanted to start riding again, I opted for dressage, because falling on the flat is a tiny bit better than falling over a fence. I still have all the equipment and clothes. All I'm missing is the horse. I do like horses, though, as friends. Sounds like he's got a fantastic retirement :)

When I was little, I took a few riding lessons every summer (I think it was like, 4 or 6 of them, in July and August, on Thursdays). I got horse crazy after I read the Black Stallion books and thought I was going to be a jockey. Of course I was the only one in my family with this level of interest in horses and the riding lessons they got me were.....western style. And due to the start-stop nature, I never progressed past the canter. And then I got too tall anyway.Jennifer R. They were the only shoes I had with heals. The horse I rode was named Bill. They had to wake him up for my first ride. He and I became fast friends. Not as handsome as Zen but he was a sweetie.

Carolynnwith2Nshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18394998702410764388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17040756.post-65642818599254227312019-08-19T07:39:27.826-04:002019-08-19T07:39:27.826-04:00He's beautiful!He's beautiful! nightsmusichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05984119792540771870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17040756.post-69375348759426052732019-08-19T07:01:56.611-04:002019-08-19T07:01:56.611-04:00Beautiful picture!
