Hiatus 8

Ferdinand!

Murielle!
This is Ferdinand (the black cat) and Murielle (the seal point). They are seven year old Devon Rexes and are a bonded pair, which makes them like an old married couple. They sometimes share each other's food, they sometimes cuddle, they sometimes get a little frisky, but mostly they bicker and ignore one another.

The Devon Rex is known for having fur but not hair the way a bird might have down but not feathers. That makes them super soft, like petting velvet.

They're beautiful! I knew a Devon Rex once. So soft...

And I love the comparison to an old married couple. Too funny!

Fluffy kitties. Now, I just want to go see CATS.

Beautiful cats, but don't tell our Maine Coon I said that.

Btw, I love this online jigsaw puzzle site. This is one of today's featured puzzles: Christmas Cats Jigsaw Puzzle

What great photos! Murielle looks like an old-time movie star. And something about Ferdinand's face reminds me of an uncle of mine. Such a lovely couple!

Oh, kitty! You terrible person! I have things to do today and now...well, I love jigsaw puzzles and this is too distracting.

As a child of the 80's, I've always thought their fur also looked crimped! :)

When I worked at the Cat Fancier's Association, one of my coworkers had a Cornish Rex, who I met once (and another coworker [who was in charge of judges] bred silver Persians])

Mmmmmm, purrrr to all those who are a bonded pair.

Hoe did you get them to pose? When our cats see a camera, or even a modern phone, they disappear.

Petting velvet, I love that and they're so statuesque.

Ferdinand and Murielle -
what splendid feline personnel.
These portraits, fine as Rafael,
will surely make them immortelle!

(I'm trying to avoid a chore I don't want to do, hence the rhyming exercise. Love these gorgeous kitties.)

Murielle looks like she's trying to hold in her mild disappoint in my actions. What did I do now?

Kitty, my Maine Coon will also be kept in the dark about this. I have never seen a Devon Rex before, but I am now a convert.

Great poem, Claire!

What lovely names for the lovely cats. We have a Devon Rex who thinks he lives with us (he doesn't - his house is down the street), but he's old and kind of ragged-looking these days and not nearly as good-looking as these two.

Lovely kitties.

Our cat was a Devon Rex. If it wasn't for allergies we'd have another in a heart beat. These two are gorgeous.
