Parade of Pets Day 17

Smudgie Bandit  and Willow Cinnamon Pounce

I present Willow Cinnamon Pounce (the elegant tortoiseshell) and Smudgie Bandit (the idiot black and white onr who’s lain down half on top of Willow).

Both cats were found in a marina in Spain while my husband and I were there on our boat. Willow simply adopted us; Smudgie had fallen (I hope not thrown) into the water at the age of six weeks and squawked like a seagull until my husband rescued him, at around 4 in the morning. Smudgie adores Willow with all his hapless little heart; Willow tolerates him. Sometimes.

That look! It's as if he's saying, 'Seriously? Can't you find someone else to sleep on?'

Adorable. :)

Pretty kitties with great names! I, too, got a kick out of WCP's expression. Ha!

A true rescue. Love it.

I'm wondering if these lovely critters are Amy Schaefer's? I.e. boat was mentioned, and I used to love to live vicariously through her pics and posts.

Adorable kitties!

I adore these kitties. Willow might seem like she's protesting, but I'm sure she loves all the cuddles.

I love how some cats are total goofballs and other cats try to maintain that they are the epitome of elegance and not cat could POSSIBLY act like that, how dare you.

Thanks everyone! I love these two too (obviously).

I'm not Amy Schaefer, but I do have some boat and cat related posts that might be of interest! This post is from when we first tried sailing with Willow (before Smudgie came along):

Beautiful cats, sophistikitty. I love the thought of them hanging around the marina awaiting the daily catch - which turned out to be you! Awww, Smudgie :-)

I love how we learn more about reefers (meaning reef residents of course) through these posts! Classic cat story—the snob and the cuddles!

What a look of long-suffering! But she could get up and leave :)

So glad you fished these two out of their old lives!

Willow looks like she is right on the edge of her maternal instinct. Waiting for the Smudgecicle to grow up. It might be a long wait.

Wonderful that you could rescue them, or they, you, from a Spanish Marina. I've seen a couple of those and they always seem to have a junk pile that has crap that dates back to the stone age.

OT: Today goes down in history; Nancy Pelosi is again Speaker of the House. The only woman Speaker in history and first two time Speaker in 60 some years.

It's going to be a very long wait indeed for Smudgie to grow up. He's in a state of permanent kittenhood.

I should clarify that this is a very nice Spanish marina! But right next to a fishing port, which is, unsurprisingly, a popular spot for local cats.
