The Duchess of Yowl casts her vote

Her Grace, the Duchess of Yowl: What are you doing, why are you not petting me?

Me: I just finished filling out my absentee ballot.

DoY:  Where's my absentee ballot?

Me: Are you a Democat?

DoY: Certainly not. Much too egalitarian.

Me: You're a Republicat?

DoY: Not anymore.

Me: Are you affiliated with any party?

DoY: I belong to the Pajama Party

Me: Your platform?

DoY: More cats, more naps!

Me: Fewer dogs?

DoY: When I am elected, dogs will be illegal.

Me: What office are you seeking?

DoY: Dog Catcher.

Me: How's the campaign going?

DoY: Considering the number of foul hounds in this building alone, it will be a landslide.

Me: You know, the people who have those dogs may not want them evicted?

DoY: Wait, they chose to have dogs? It wasn't some sort of grievous bad luck that they have a dog and not  a cat?

Me: Hard to believe isn't it?

DoY: The world is going to hell in a hound basket.

So cute and funny. DoY would not like my house. She would probably get along just fine with the guinea pig and the parakeet mostly because those are both caged. I assume she'd tolerate the cat, though I'm not sure he'd be happy with another cat in the house. However, DoY would clearly take great exception to the SIX dogs inhabiting our house and yard. (My husband and I only have three dogs. One dog and the guinea pig belongs to the oldest of my daughters living at home. The rest belong to my youngest daughter. She's studying to be a veterinarian.)

Konnie Enos Her Grace does like the idea of having her own personal in-house physician.

Since ONE dog is a dog too far, six would probably be a deal breaker.

"Going to hell in a hound basket." - that phrase needs to be on a T-shirt

LOL. I want to belong to the Pajama Party, too.

I agree with KariV - that ought to go on a T-shirt! I'd buy it. There is nothing better than reading a DoY story - that made my Sunday complete!

I would definitely vote for the Pajama Party apart from the anti-dog thing. I can go for pajamas but I like my dog. Don't tell the Duchess.

Hilarious! At the very least, this should be a cartoon strip. Love it!
