Love the picture...surreal.

The door looks like it's been situated at the edge of a cliff.

Have a great day everyone!

Gorgeous colors. Love the inspiration of a broad vista.

Great picture. I couldn't write with that view. Why do anything else but look? And I'd have to be up and down all day letting the dog in and out of the door.

There is nothing on this wonderful earth as awe inspiring for us mite-sized humans as the majesty of the mountains.
The view in that picture is almost the exact view from the opening pages of my finally completed memoir. Your timing of this pic literally takes my breath away Janet.
Oh my...what a wonderful way to start my day. Thank you my friend, thank you.

Lovely. Have a great day, Janet, and I'll join Donna in wishing everyone a great one too!

With my luck, I'd hike all the way there and the door would be locked.

My architect side reels with practical questions: Is this a remnant of a larger structure or a sculpture in the landscape? Why would someone interfere with circulation by placing a threshold on a rocky outcrop?
Then the storyteller side takes over: The rocks were placed there, for warning. Or the larger structure is still there, but unseen by the average person. Or the door is closed all the time until one day, when it opens. Or the door travels, and appears at various gorgeous settings around the world/galaxy/universe. Can anyone resist being drawn across the threshold?
The possibilities are endless. Thank you for unleashing our imaginations this morning!

I've listened to waaaaaay too much Welcome to Night Vale to trust doors in the middle of nowhere.

Also I'm not entirely certain mountains exist ;)

This door is clearly the one through which Professor Reg Chronitis was able to travel time and space in "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" (Douglas Adams). At any moment, the Electric Monk and his horse will happen upon it ... and hijinx shall ensue.

And I can NOT believe nobody here has read this! It's a perfectly excellent novel - one of Adams' best!
