Let the glacial age commence contest results

Yesterday's contest was fun! You were asked to use "Let the glacial age commence" as the prompt.

I picked the answers that cracked me up the most.

Herewith the finalists:

Suzanne 10:15am
Let the glacial age commence...
I long for the suspence.
These times of apprehension
Are the mother of invention.
Take your time.
(I'll take mine.)

Colin Smith 10:18am
Well, after the last Ice Age we got Egypt, Greece, Rome, and the Renaissance. Aren’t the best things in life worth waiting for? 10:28am
Let the glacial age commence..., a.k.a. "let the sloth's work begin!"

Brittany Constable 11:14am
Take your time. I've got my Wheel of Time, Song of Ice and Fire, Discworld, Xanth, and... Wait, you're back already? Hmm. This is awkward.

Leslie 11:26am
"Let the glacial age commence."

You take as long as you need. I'm Canadian, glacial is a day-to-day reality for me.

Steve Forti 1:18pm
Glacial? Like “of the glaze”? Because I love glazed donuts. No? Okay, then bring on the popsicles and mittens. Let’s watch Southerners drive in snow.

I couldn't decide between these next two entries. Both of them made me laugh, but in different kinds of ways.

Sisi 12:59pm
Some of the best things in life take time. Books. Diamonds. Revenge. I’m in no hurry. I know how to wait.

Francesca 6:53pm
As a steadfast, Rush Limbaugh-loving Republican, I have no choice but to deny the existence of glaciers.

So, let's have TWO winners for this contest! Sisi and Francesca, if you'll email me your mailing address I'll send you each a copy of WOLF by Jim Ringel. (If you prefer another book let me know)

Congrats to all the finalists, and thanks to everyone who entered!

Yes, let's all deny the existence of glaciers. Hell, I'm up for denying winter entirely. Of course, then my Boston year would only be about four months long, but still... I'm in!

This got me thinking, though. Would the most effective response actually be "I will give you a cupcake every time you finish a chapter"?

Thanks, Janet, though I'm sure my kids won't believe someone actually thought I was funny. ;)

Congrats to the winners!

Congratulations to the winners, Sisi and Francesca! Thank you for the mention. I hesitated with my entry...I wasn't sure calling your work ethic sloth like was smart.

So sorry I missed this one, my brain was floating on a rapidly melting ice pack somewhere, (my column was due).
Just have to say,
I AM the glacial age.
Congrats to the winners.

I'm honored to be a winner, but I honestly don't know how you decide between so many excellent responses! Thank you Janet, and thank you to everyone who made me laugh out loud this morning.

Loved all the entries.
I drew a complete blank, slowly.
Well done.
