Cover me!

Does this look just slightly wrong to you?

Here's a great story on how that cover came to be this cover

Interesting. Without knowing the context, the fiery rose makes me think of a romance novel. The final version is definitely the best.

I couldn't even read the first one. I thought it said "Frise". And to be honest, the color turned me off, too. I like the cool blue much better.

...Faise?

...Frise?

Oh FALSE memory!!!!!

I thought it was Frise Memorg

For sure read that as Frise Memorg and was like, "Oh! They've published it in Swedish!" But no.

What is it with the letter 'L'? Is it not worthy of capital status?!?!

Maybe that cover should have been entered here too!

I do rather love the rose image though!

The first looks like the book came out in 1971. I see a right hand cupping a rose and a left hand embracing the right with a cigarette in its fingers. Groovy, baby.

The fact that the rose was right in the middle of the page (horizontally anyway), bugged me so much I didn't even read the text. Second one is so much better.

It does make me wonder what kind of book this is,though, that it could potentially have had both these covers.

We always read about how many drafts a book goes through, but it's nice to see that with covers as well. I definitely like the new one better, and not just because blue is my favorite color!

I actually quite like the rose. But it looks like it says 'faise' to me not 'false'.

But I do like the blue as well
