"Fiction is the purest art. Commercial fiction is the butter, the darkest chocolate, and the finest malt. That's why we are so addicted to it."--Angie Brooksby-Arcangioli
I may be just that I am particularly slow today, but the link shows up as broken to me.
Same. Broken link.
I think the article she's talking about is here:http://www.portlandbookreview.com/writers-on-writing/9-1-11-write-what-you-hate/
Great advice about living the experience for full blown research. I just finished County Line. From his prose I would say that Cameron keeps a moleskin in his pocket to note everything.
Good article, although it still seemed more of a case of write-what-you-don't-know that happened to be something he hated. However, learning to understand those you don't like, don't agree with, and so on is a great way to stretch your own mental horizons and make you a better person in addition to a better writer and character developer.
Great article, thanks for sharing!
I am further impressed by your clients. You have great taste.
Argh, sorry about the link thing. They even have a way to test links pre-post and I *still* blew it.ARGH!!!*swims off to beat head on rock*
Great article, thanks!
