A book that should be on your reference shelf

One of the books I mentioned a lot during the Writers Digest Conference yesterday is Christina Katz's GET KNOWN BEFORE THE BOOK DEAL.

It's an invaluable resource for building visibility.  Her agent is Rita Rosenkranz who is both an invaluable colleague and a treasured friend.

Thanks for passing this along. I need all the help I can get as I attempt to become less invisible.

Agreed! I read this a few years ago before I started blogging and plan to read again this year.

Aw, shucks. Thanks for the referral for Get Known, Janet. I join you in singing Rita's praises to the rooftops. Her integrity and track record speak for themselves. I've referred several of my former students to her as well, so you know I am a happy client. Sounds like a great time was had by all at the WD conference. I'm about to read the entire series of blog recaps after dinner. Hope to be there next year with my third book, which we will announce soon. Thanks again.

Thanks for the tip. There's so much out there that claims to be helpful. It's difficult to tell what works and what doesn't.

*Definitely* what I need. Thanks for the recommendation.

I agree, this is a great book. It's geared toward nonfiction writers, but fiction writers should read it too. I'm about to start rereading it to help build me platform. The exercises at the end of each chapter are great.
