There's a terrific interview with Eric Stone about his new novel SHANGHAIED on the International Thriller Writers Big Thrill blog.
He's interviewed by Megan Kelley Hall whom I had the pleasure of meeting at the Grub Street conference a couple years back. I knew she was a terrific book publicist, but now after clicking on her site, turns out she's a terrific writer as well!

They were really interesting questions, too. It was a lot of fun to do and actually made me think about my answers. She's a good interviewer.
I found this part of the interview really interesting:
"Although no matter how far from me a character is, I find that there's something of me inside them all, and I enjoy the occasional bouts of introspection that pushes me into."
One of the great pleasures of writing, to be sure!
Really great interview. What he says about Los Angeles and the slury of cultures is what I love about the area. As a native of LA, I love it and miss it when I'm away. As a writer, there is no lack of interesting characters to pull from.
This is a wonderful interview, thank you!
Best of luck to you on Shanghaied, Eric! Sounds like a great book.
Also, Janet where are you? I miss your posts. They're fun. Did you go on vacation?
Also, hope this isn't appropriate to say here - but did you take off the followers part of your blog? I accidentally took myself off the list (long story) and wanted to put myself back on so I could show how brave I was!
Thanks for the shoutout, Janet. You know that I'm a big fan of your blog! And Eric, your backstory made for a fascinating interview. Wishing you continued success on your writing.
best always,
Megan
