Elvis (Cole!) has left the building

This story on Gawker about a guy being "investigated" by private eyes just cracked me up!

The title of that article ("Who hired this private eye to investigate me?") makes me think of the Onion article:

How Did I End Up on the Cover of this Romance Novel?

Oof. I think it's clever of Nolan to turn the tables on the people who are dogging him, lying to his family, asking everyone he knows in his hometown about him..

But it's an attempt at intimidation by parties unknown, sending a message, involving his family- I kind of don't think it's funny, - if it was me i'd be freaked out, actually. Gawker writes about some powerful people, and for a freelance blogger, having a well-off enemy getting in touch with your family, cryptically- it's Sci----ogy stuff, scary and not fun, intimidating a writer.

Well, I had to laugh at the information he posted about his PIs. I wonder if they have changed their phone numbers yet.

Okay, I admit it: I hired the P.I.'s. Obviously, I got a little carried away with my "pick a guy at random and intimidate him" game. It's like tag, only not.

Someone needs to call those numbers and report back.

To me the PI is either amazingly stupid or he's done some homework and got all of the people who read that blog to know about his book. Might be some cunning stunt from a marketing perspective...

Like they say: there's no such thing as bad publicity.

So I'll do the same and whore our project. Learn about Robert Eisner at:
